You may have heard people describing their marriage as, "I have been happily married for 35 years". But what does it mean when married couples state that? Does it mean that marriage is an everyday sweet dance and celebration? I want to look at the statement, "marriage is a bed of roses" and describe it as the summary of marriage from my point of view. When I started this book, it was after I had lived so many times on the edge of packing my bag and moving out of my marriage. People have explained 'a bed of roses' to mean that everything is hunky dory, beautiful and magnificent. In this book I want you to understand marriage from where I stood in the past and where I sit today, stating that it is a bed of roses but with a more exotic and colourful meaning.
