One of the reasons I like this book is because I can relate to it. The author told her story with honesty and truth which I would think is very hard to do publicly. Wow, great read. It's always inspiring to hear true accounts of God's faithfulness. For me, stories like these help with the "Bad things to good people" question. In hindsight His plan is sometimes reassuringly apparent. Reading this story made me remember that. I think it has the power to show other people that as well. For anyone that has dealt with or is dealing with alcoholism in your family this book lets you know you're not alone and gives a great example of the power of prayer.
