Around the fall of 2024, a country leader on his way out of office poked the proverbial bear. World War III broke out between the last two superpowers. To settle the long time score between them, massive ordinances got used and the world experienced heavy losses. Many places became uninhabited in the first few years. In 2028, it stopped...no governments remained and people took control of their lives. Small towns began popping up in inhabitable locations. People survived, but then one night in the summer of 2032, objects appeared in the sky. Aliens had come in the aftermath. Dedicated to a friend that left this world all too soon.
