Excellent Source

Elizabeth has captured so much in this poignant book of help for when a child has died. Bereaved parents can fully relate to the feelings of sorrow and despair and yet gain comfort from knowing that others have continued to live on in spite of the 'worst loss'. This is a book all bereaved parents should own. The chapters are short, the writing style easy to read and the pages packed with hope.

A ten star book......very well written.

My aunt sent this book to my husband and I following the death of our four month old daughter.I didn't think that anything or anyone could help me, but reading this book made me realize that I am not the only one who has lost a little angel. Hearing how others grieve has helped me with the overwhelming thoughts and feelings I experience everyday....

A Wonderful Book

I have been searching every where for a book that explained the way that I am feeling. After losing my 24 year old son 2 months ago I felt like I was the only person who had ever experienced what I was feeling. Although the pain does not go away there is comfort in knowing that others are going through the same pain and that what you are experiencing is not unusual. It is a wonderful book and I would recommend it to anyone who has lost a child no matter what their age.

This book has been a great comfort after my son died.

This book has many different stories of parents struggling to go on after losing a child. I lost a 17-yr-old this year in a car accident and, with that death, I have felt separated from the everyday lives of my friends. I might as well be living on another planet. The stories in this book help me remember that my experience is not unique and, unfortunately, will be repeated by others. There is consolation in knowing that parents do survive this loss and that we still would not have missed being part of our children's lives even if it means going on without them now.

This book moved me to grieve for the loss of our son.

We lost our son seven months ago and I didn't know how to cope with such a painful experience. Reading this book let me know I wasn't alone in my grief and I had a way to express my anger, regret, sorrow and the heaviness I felt in my heart. "After the Darkest Hour..." gives a greiving parent the outlet they are searching for. I would recommend this book to anyone who has lost a child, be it at child birth to the age of 60. This book proves age doesn't matter, the loss of child is always painful.
