In February 2018 a four-mile wide asteroid strikes the earth. Most life on earth is killed by the impact and aftermath that follows. But there are survivors. One group of people who survived the impact and its aftermath bands together near San Diego to pool their resources as they struggle to find enough to eat. Bob Stevens, an army veteran of the war in Afghanistan, leads the colony. He is a flawed individual who struggles to come to grips with the loss of his wife and daughter in the Apocalypse as well as demons that followed him home from Afghanistan. Life is hard but the survivors make it work. But they aren't alone; another group of survivors from the New Mexico desert likes what the San Diego survivors have, and rather than work together want to take over the colony by force. What takes place is not only a struggle to survive in a hostile post-apocalyptic world but against the survivors bent on the conquest and subrogation of the San Diego colony. This is a story filled with adventure, violent confrontation and romance.
