In America, we are taught the first 400 years of this country's oppression towards people of color. What about the previous 10,000 years of history from Africa? The only visual we receive on television is typically a charitable commercial but we only see what 2% of Africa actually looks like. Our history is being told from the lens of the hunters of Africa and the narrative is unbalanced. There's an African Proverb that states, "Until the lions have their own historians, the history of the hunt will glorify the hunter". Today is a new day.
