Writing is a way of thinking. When I compose poetry, the refining of language, the rhythms and compacted structures and the resultant shaped and cadenced language is a still life that captures an instant of ongoing discovery.
Though personal and mysterious, even to me, my writer's life has thrived in part because of those with whom I share drafts of my work and discussions of the books that we are reading. Thank you to my wife and significantly better half, Candace, and to the primary co-conspirator in my "craft or sullen art," Mike Green.
