We became friends as a result of my audacious determination to help them find courage to let go and share their well-hidden talents. During my first month at Jenkins Middle, I encountered Jaye, a bully. That turned out to be a most rewarding experience for us both. I also met the girl in the wheelchair, Anji, who hid her artistic talent under the bed. Something about them both changed when they met me, Affinity, the new girl at school.
