This new volume in the Oscar Riera Ojeda Publishers Masterpiece series focuses on AE House in Guadalajara, Mexico, made by AE Arquitectos. This is a residence in which quality of life, character and identity are embodied in a building designed from the outside in to stand out in a low density neighborhood. Featuring furnishings, fixtures and furniture also designed by the studio, with exposed pink concrete, it celebrates material imperfections while paying tribute to the skill of Mexican craftspeople.
This in-depth study, including comprehensive diagrams, plans and photography with accompanying commentary from the studio architects and architectural experts, shows how the organic flow of the spaces allows for a progressive shedding of the outer layers, enhancing the quality of the materials and the building's connection with the life around it.
