A Fun Romp Through Paradise

A very entertaining sea adventure appropriate for the whole family with lessons illustrating the value of not giving up when the going gets rough and events don't turn out the way they were planned. For amchair and wannabe sailors, this is a must read, for although it is fiction, it gives a highly realistic account of what the cruising lifestyle is like.

Escapism at it's BEST!

Terry has written a very entertaining, easy-to-read book that vicariously takes you on the boat with Rick and his stowaway cat. Makes you want to cast off the docklines and head down to the little latitudes!

A welcome escape!

With winter approaching I realized I needed one more vacation to sunny climes. With limited funds I ended up at the bookstore and found just what I needed in 'Adventures Aboard Rick's Place'. The premise of the story is that even when life gives you its worst you can find the strength and courage to take on every challenge each new day brings. Adventure and self reliance are richly rewarded if you have a sense of humor, no fear of death and an empty sailboat hull to fill with a lifetime of dreams. I really enjoyed the warm breeze in my hair as I sailed along with Rick and Jack and could feel the pearl white sand of South Pacific Beaches between my toes. My heart rose and crashed along with the waves that could lift Rick into the exciting storms or drop his heart like an anchor to the ocean floor. I really enjoyed my 'vacation' and hope Rick takes me along on his next adventure.

Smile and Laugh Out Loud as You Sail with Rick and Jack

Whether you have sailed the blue waters of the South Pacific, are going soon, dream of doing it or know you never will, this is the book for you! The many ups and downs (literally), adventures, fears and joys of a solo cruiser and a stowaway cat make this a great read, suitable for most ages. The enjoyable and humorous writing style of the author will have you smiling and even laughing out loud as Rick works through many tight spots and challenging situations. You will even learn some things about sailing and South Pacific Island cultures as you sail along aboard Rick's Place. Mr. Kotas has created a wonderful first novel.

Adventures Aboard Rick's Place Enjoyed the ride with Rick and Jack as they sailed across the South Pacific. Kept me laughing and it was a great escape following them as they left the rat race behind and sailed off into the sunset.
