Importance of mother In life, a person generally come across various forms of relationship like father, son, husband and wife but the most dearest and hearty of all is of a mother. Mother is the best gift given by the creator on this earth. The word 'mother' itself is unique and no one can replace her position in the life of human beings. Mother occupies a special place in everyone's life; every woman has an instinct to have children in other words to become mother in her life. The breath of a person is the gift of mother and this gift lasts till the death. Mother's magical touch heals children's physical and emotional wounds and she works hard as well as sacrifices everything for the family and for the betterment of her children. Mother's nature of forgiveness and compassion towards her children is a valuable thing in this world. She always keeps her children out of trouble and makes them secure in life. Mother's attachment with children during childhood and adolescence period is very crucial. Mothers' love and affection and the quality of time to the adolescents are helpful in enhancing their self-concept and socio-emotional adjustment. Role of mother is very vital in bringing up her adolescents in terms of physical, psychological, social and emotional development. Without her support one cannot achieve the goal in life. The value of mother is thus expressed by Shivaprakash (2006) "I believe if someone sees God in his lifetime, if he or she even happen to experience God, if there is something called God it can only be "Mother" he further adds "umbilical cord in all of us is a constant reminder that wherever she is, the mother remains a part of her children".
