The enormous economic loss caused by demotivation also becomes clear in the present study: We asked the participants in the study how high they estimated their loss of enthusiasm for work and productivity due to motivational barriers. The average loss of productivity or work performance among those surveyed is around 30% and the average loss of enthusiasm for work is as much as 42%.
