Alex Giorgio's dream has always been to be part of the famed Alexandria Rangers infantry, So when he's finally called up and succeeds at their tests, the joy he feels cannot be described, that is until he is shot protecting a woman he just met. Paralyzed from the waist down, his dream flies out the window. He finds himself in a facility owned and operated by the ADIW, which he soon understands is part of the Rangers in a sense, and the beautiful woman he met turns out to be the doctor for that facility. She explains that, due to his accident, they decided to offer him the chance to serve as a Shadow, one of the super fast protectors the Rangers use for important people protection. But his role will be different.

After the procedure, he discovers his abilities far exceed the other Shadows, and this might be the result of the mission he was chosen to accomplish, a mission so secret only a select few know of it. Will he be able to complete his mission in time, will his abilities help him in more ways than expected, and will he survive betrayal by the people he trusted the most?
