I'm a parent experiencing the "terrible two" phase with both my two year old and my five year old. When I bought this book I thought it was a cute story about teaching children to be more flexible, and that not getting your way is not the end of the world. I was not disappointed. The pictures, word layout and rhyme are entertaining and engaging. It quickly became a favorite read-a-loud for my children and me. They want me to read it everyday, and I pull it out whenever my little ones are having trouble adapting. There is a line in the book that says, "Adapt is what you do when you can't do what you want to". Now my five year old knows what it means to adapt and repeats it constantly. The book goes on to give children ideas of how they can use their creativity to make positive choices to pass the time. I highly recommend it. It helped me to help my children to navigate the word "no" in a more harmonious manner. This is the fourth book I've read by this husband/wife author team (David and Mutiya Vision), and my children and I are big fans of their work.
