Meet Adaora, an inquisitive five year old girl, who was sent to Nigeria to live with her grandmother when she was a baby. She's on her way back to America, and is totally unprepared for her new life. Slightly based on the author's own upbringing, she wanted to capture the immigrant experience from a child's perspective. ABOUT THE AUTHOR Jessica Chinyere Uzo, is a Nigerian-American author, born in Chicago, IL, and sent to live in Nigeria from ages one through five and then again from ten to eleven. She speaks both English and Igbo and grew predominantly in the south suburban area of Chicago. She holds a Bachelors degree in Criminal Justice, from Chicago State University, and a Masters degree in Public Management from Johns Hopkins University. Ms Uzo is passionate about the arts, traveling, and community organizing.
