Action Learning and Teaching Research Methodology

The teaching and learning of the subject of Scientific Research Methodology (SRM) in the context in which this work is carried out does not seem to be producing the expected effects. In other words, the percentage of students who manage to develop scientific research skills is very low. Scientific Research Methodology (SRM) is part of the curriculum of all social sciences courses, in order to guarantee the student's insertion into the academic world from the first stage of their training (Rampazzo, 2004, p.11). The academic world is usually something very new for students entering university for the first time. Therefore, teaching and learning it requires the teacher and the student to exercise their minds to develop the culture and behavioural patterns necessary for scientific thinking (Paul & Elder, 2002, p.19). The aim of this work is to propose an integrated approach to the teaching and learning of ICM in the social sciences. In addition, this work aims to present a methodological proposal to make the teaching of ICM practical and accessible in social science courses.
