I took the ACT in December of 2001 and then again on April 6, 2002. Both times I scored a 28 but felt I could do better, especially on the math portion. I purchased this book in May in preparation for my third and hopefully final attempt at the test in June. I started reading the book with about two weeks before the test. The math appendix and 100 key math concepts were very helpful to me. I also was impressed with the English sections that provided me with simple strategies to improve my score. When I got my score report back from my June ACT, my math score had increased by six (31), my science by five (30), and my English by three (33). Even though I basically choked on the Reading (28, it dropped by four points), I still managed a 31 composite score. This qualified me for a full scholarship to the top college on my list. Scoring a 31 has greatly increased my scholarship opportunities, and I owe my success to this book. Two or three points can really make a difference, and this book can help you attain that slight increase. I read through the book in a very short time and didn't even use the CD-ROM. Also, I only glanced over the practice tests. I can only imagine how much this book could have helped me if I had spent more time reading it and had not waited until the last minute to buy it.
