Welcome to Starlight Grove

Well, I was partially right on the bad guy, which doesn't normally happen with Catherine Cowles books, so I'm calling it a win! The full reveal was unfortunate but there's just enough...left(?) that I'm curious how stuff is going to play out. I loved the Archer brothers! They picked on each other, but they also had each others backs when it mattered. They've got a dark past but like Brae told Dex, it just made them beautiful. Can't wait to see everyone figuring that out! Dex was amazing. I did laugh a little because he was in the whole "she's not for me because I can't give her what she needs" but then was firmly in the "I'm don't like others flirting with her! Wait, no!" And I just loved that he was so gone from the moment she called him Buttercup, even if it took him a minute to admit it. Like I mentioned, I loved his relationship with his brothers. They've been through some stuff and I both want to know a little more and just hope that what we got from Dex is the worst of it. I love that he admitted how Waylon had helped them and how quickly he took to Owen, even while he was trying to convince himself that he couldn't do anything with Brae. Brae was great. She was doing her best for Owen, even if I think she might have gone the teensiest overboard a couple times. Although I do understand the feeling. She was also doing her best for Nova and I liked that she didn't let Sheriff Miller stop her. I loved how she managed to start reading each of the Archer brothers and keyed into all the things, especially with Dex and Orion. She won Waylon over without even trying and I loved when he claimed her in front of Sheriff Miller because it was awesome. I did wish we'd gotten one interaction with her family, even a phone call, so she could tell them off, but at the same time, she was also able to find her family in Starlight Grove, so maybe that all worked out.
