execellent resource for IM residents

I highly recommend this book for residents in IM.(latest version) detailed and up to date information about the management of various medical conditions. may be not a good book for med students as they do not need to get into such detailed information about the treatment.i would prefer the online version which also gives you access to a lot of interesting questions.i got the book as well.Harrison gives you more information about all aspects of a disoredr eg Symptoms,signs etc, but this one is more focused on managment. Buy them both!They're both excellent.

Better than Harrison's!?

All my preceptors recommended Harrison's because it's what they know. This book is new and less well-known, and I stumbled upon the online version accidentally through the hospital website. I must say that as a third-year medical student I've found the online version of this book much easier to use than Harrison's. With ACP Medicine you can view and print the .pdf versions of the chapters, while Harrison's online has a clunky format that requires clicking through each section and printing in landscape mode. The online version of this textbook also includes comprehension questions at the end of some chapters, which I found to be very helpful for my learning. In general, the "Approach to the patient with..." sections are excellent, with many nice flowcharts and tables. Most sections are very well-written and up to date as well. Read what the official reviewer says--it's pretty right-on. This book may soon replace Harrison's as the standard medical textbook!
