An honest reflection of a journey through pain to discover joy on the other side
Published by Thriftbooks.com User , 7 years ago
As a fellow autism parent, I have anticipated this book for some time. Jason has always had a gift for touching readers through his transparency. The journey is not all sunshine and rainbows; rather, it is broken, tiresome, repetitive, leaving us sometimes to ask the question, "Why God?"
My favorite quote-among many, many more highlighted lines in my book!-is: "There is nothing more exhausting than the marathon charade of self-assurance." We think we can go it alone and we choose to because sometimes we feel God can't handle our sandpaper prayers. We'd rather He wave His magic wand and make it all align with what WE want, WHEN we want it.
Expectant hope is what I've discovered in the pages of this wonderfully written account of a man's honest reflection of his thought process, seeking and questioning God, all the while discovering the joy that surrounds him.
