Acceptable Worship: Walking in the Light of God

We live in a culture that is self-focused. Sadly, even our worship can become about how it makes us feel or what we get out of it. We may go to church because the songs and the routine give us warm feelings, or we choose to skip church because we don't feel like going. But the Bible is clear that worship is not about us. It's about God. His Word instructs us to worship because He deserves our praise.The illumination, light, guidance and direction offered and provided by God's Word is totally inestimable. Our lives as humans cannot enjoy adequate direction and safety from danger and darkness with all the evil lurking around in it without God's light - illuminating our path in life. John chapter one verses four and five refers to God's Word as the light of men which shines in the darkness and darkness cannot comprehend Him. It is obvious that our world today is lost in darkness and even the children of God are tripping and falling headlong in the dark because God's light (His Word) has been sidestepped.
