Darrell Heckman pulls from his own experiences as a former prosecuting attorney to give an insider's look at the prosecution of child sexual abuse cases. This is no dry textbook but a well-written story of the persons involved in the legal processes and the frustrations and rewards of protecting children from the predators in their lives. If only all prosecutor's offices could have the Child Sexual Abuse Division that Heckman envisions here then society would be much better off.I was surprised at how in such a small book the character development was deep enough to make me care about the characters --rooting for the good guys and disgusted with the bad guys. It reminded me of my favorite tv show, "Law & Order" --the character's subplots added to instead of taking away from the action and emotion of the case. All in all, it's a great read!
