I was the only grandchild of my paternal grandparents, Jennie and Elmer DeWitt. We lived in a delightful little village in western New York. Many of our streets were lined with sugar maple trees, however, most everyone's back yard contained fruit trees, especially an apple tree.At my grandparents home, that apple tree had a beautiful swing hanging from its sturdy branches.This is my story.
