This is a short book, but I hope and pray that it proves to be an instrument of grace. It is but a collection of meditations on the meaning of prayer-especially the deepest and most intimate form of prayer, which can be called the "prayer of the heart." I have written these meditation from the depths of my own personal experience, as well as from my encounter with others whom I have been graced to accompany in their journey of faith within the love of God. Through both of these, it has become ever clearer to me that we live in a world and a culture that is profoundly lost-lost because we have forgotten the truth of our identity. What is this identity?
