ABC are a rock group formed in Sheffield, Yorkshire, England, UK during 1980. Their classic line-up comprised lead vocalist Martin Fry, guitarist & keyboardist Mark White, saxophonist Stephen Singleton, and drummer David Palmer. ABC evolved from an earlier Sheffield band, Vice Versa, formed by synthesizer players Singleton & White in 1977. The group had 10 UK & 5 US top 40 hit singles from 1981 - 1990, and their debut studio L.P. The Lexicon of Love (1982), was a British chart-topper. Their early-'80s success in the States led to ABC's association with the Second British Invasion. They continue to tour as a solo project for Fry, having issued a 9th studio album, The Lexicon of Love II, during 2016.
