Best dog training book

This book teaches owners how to train in a positive manner. The instructions and theories are easy to understand, and most importantly effective. Basic obedience, positive training theory, problem solving (jumping, digging etc.), off leash obedience and basic obedience are all covered in this book. I train service dogs and for basic obedience and leash training I use the methods and theories in this book. I can't say enough good things about it. :)

Very good learning theory info, but a little lacking in practical.

I really liked this book, especially the clear discussions about learning theory, using both positives and aversives correctly. How to teach most basic manners skills. I was, however, surprised by the omission of teaching a dog not to pull on leash! This is one of the most common complaints of dog owners, yet it is not covered in this book. Other than that, great stuff.
