BRING BACK ABBY! SHE ROCKS!

Abby is, without question, my favorite member of the BSC series. (Yes, folks, the BSC has a following of ALL ages). Abby is smart, funny, wonderfully clever and gifted with natural expression. She's great! I like the way she tells her story in a tone of unflinching honesty and the part about the deep bond she and her dad have is classic. I also loved the way Abby's twin, Anna used musical terms to name the chapters of her version of their lives together. The sisters balance one another well. Abby is a very distinct personality and she is sorely missed in the new series. I wish Ann M. Martin would bring her back. Abby rocks!

Abby's the best!

This book is the best, since Abby's the best baby-sitter! I really miss her in the new series, Friends Forever! I wish that there was a real person like Abby, so I could meet her! Please write some more regular BSC books, Ann, I really miss Abby!

very touching

I think that this is one of the best Baby-sitters Club books.Abby has been through a rough time and it's really sad. I liked when Abby and her twin sister, Anna, were first graders, and they had to dress in certain colors so their teacher could tell them apart. I also liked when they were in Sanibel, but I won't spoil the book by telling you the whole story so, bye.

Wonderful, positive view of a single-mom family

Abby is a neat character who is optimistic in the face of the terrible tragedy of losing her dad. Also her mom is courageous and strong in dealing with her grief of widowhood. A real departure from many books about single-mother families. So many traditional books portray the single mother as being always financially struggling, miserable, and chronically lonely and waiting for another husband to "rescue" her from her woes and paint the kids as being either in trouble or "deprived" and longing for a dad "replacement." Abby's family goes through the normal grieving process, mourns appropriately, then slowly, realistically bit by bit, pick up their lives and survive and emerge closer than ever. I like how Rachel is stable financially so she doesn't have to worry about being able to support her daughters and doesn't pine around for another husband. The twin relationship between Abby and Anna is fascinating and realistic also. They're twins, yet not clones.
