I love Abby!

I was wandering through BAM one day, hoping to find a GOOD book that I hadn't yet read and saw the title Abby Cooper, Psychic Eye. I love books about the paranormal, and psychics in particular, so I snatched it off the shelf to read the blurb. I decided it was right up my alley and bought both it and book two in the series at the same time. Am really glad I did! Abby is like the girl next door who just happens to be psychic. She and her cohorts have some very funny dialogue, but when the murder comes down, she shows real feeling and concern. Abby meets a policeman named Dutch and they have this "move away closer" dance going on throughout the book. The plot of the book is well planned, and Abby gets into dangerous situation that her "crew", her spirit guides help get her out of. This book is an excellent mystery, but more importantly, it is filled with people you would love to know. I have read it 3 times so far and have enjoyed it 5 stars each time. Read it and enjoy.

Feel the Force of Psychic Sleuthing

I read the 2nd book "Better Read Than Dead" before reading her first book & was instantly a fan of Victoria Laurie's creative writing skills. So, I was aware of Abby's psychic power before plunging myself into her 1st book. Still in this 1st book, it was a revelation of how Victoria Laurie, a bona fide psychic herself, externalize her gifted ability in the form of her created character, Abby Cooper to de-mystify her chosen profession. In this book, Victoria Laurie has done credibility to her profession by portraying them as normal beings with the same type of frustration, humility & sensitivity just like you and me. It is a rare insight into the workings of a psychic mind seen thru Abby Cooper who reveals how she comes to her conclusion thru certain symbols, places, physical descriptions of people or allusion to stories etc. Abby articulates her thoughts & feelings thru the psychic process to create an intimate feeling of sharing her success & frustration in interpreting her symbols. You feel as if you are part of Abby's team involved in solving the mystery. Dutch, Abby's romantic interest, is perhaps representative of society's skeptisicm towards the pyschic profession. They do have a on-off-on-off relationship that continues in the series that entices the readers to read on to see how far in the relationship they will go or not go ahead. One thing for sure, Abby Cooper series is definitely something to look forward to!

great paranormal

Abby Cooper is a psychic intuitive. But she can't believe that her blind date ends up being the lead investigator in the death of one her clients...and she's pointed the arrow straight back to herself by confiding some of her vision during their date! Kicking herself, she now has the police watching her as a possible murderer and the real murderer coming to find out what she knows! I loved this book - I can't wait for her next one coming in July. It was funny and engaging, and I couldn't put it down!

I predict a successful series for Ms. Laurie!

There are many preconceptions of psychics and what they do and they are a little 'off the wall' - I was attracted to Abby Cooper, Psychic Eye because it combines many elements of excitement and gives a practical view of what a psychic is and what a psychic feels in the consequences of what they do. Abby Cooper has integrity, and does what she can for her clients and friends, and stumbles into a murder mystery and a man (hunk) Dutch, a cop who can help unravel the clues. As a debut novel, Ms. Laurie is smooth, entertaining and makes you look forward to her next 'reading' - (next novel) - If you are interested in psychics, the paranormal, as well as a great mystery, pick up this book - you will enjoy it and want to browse Ms. Laurie's website - You will enjoy all of the above and I predict you will instantly be a fan - Keep 'em coming, Victoria!

Great Reading, Suspense filled

Finally! A novel about a psychic that's believable! I'm so tired of reading about intuitives that talk like robots, portending death and doom and then fall over in a dead faint after every reading! Abby Cooper is compelling as much for her normalcy as for her giftedness. I found myself fascinated by the description of what goes on in the mind of a psychic, and Dutch is the kind of guy any woman could fall head over heels for. I also loved the fact that I never knew who the real killer was until the end....even though the clues were all there. Real life professional psychic, Victoria Laurie, weaves a web of compelling suspense, fascinating descriptions, and one fantastic sense of humor! I loved, loved, loved this book!!!!!
