New York executive assistant, Chloe Roberts has it all: an exciting nightlife, a prestigious career, a close-knit friendship with her roommate, and a posh apartment in Greenwich Village. The only thing missing is a boyfriend. One night after a wild cocktail party, Chloe and her roommate, Natalie meet a New Age artist named Travis Barnes who is open to his philosophy on life, ushering Chloe and her friend to be part of his untraditional views.

When Chloe refuses the man's friendship and does not conform to his lifestyle, Chloe's roommate becomes distant and distracted by the man's romantic intention. One night after work, Chloe finds her roommate, Natalie missing. Her cell phone is disconnected, and her clothing has been removed. She is left with a handwritten note that tells Chloe that she has moved to Black Harbor on the remote Cove Island off of Cape Cod with Travis Barnes in an old monastery with other artists.

When Chloe goes on a mission to search for Natalie after unsuccessful attempts to contact her, she enters a world full of danger. Housed in the old abbey, Chloe becomes trapped on Cove Island surrounded by young men and women living in a communal society involved in drugs, torture, and lies. Will Chloe Roberts escape the monastery perched high on the rocky, shoreline cliffs of Black Harbor? Can Chloe find Natalie in time all the while being held captive in the abbey by drug induced "members" who practice sadistic rituals in the dead of the night? Maybe Chloe's only path of safety will come from upstanding local islander, Erik Stewart, or from the ghost that has been watching Chloe ever since her arrival to Black Harbor.
