Abba Father

What comes to mind when you hear the word Father? A general definition of the word father is parent or more specifically a male parent. In fact the Greek word pater does mean father but pater is where we get the word parent from. The word father should go way deeper than just parent. What many of us desire when we think of the word father is an example, a leader, one who guides and encourages and loves. One who is always there and always will be there. But that definition and description is not what many of us think of when it comes to the word father. Many did not have a close relationship with their father and many more did not even have a relationship with their father. I did have a relationship with my earthly father and I am eternally thankful for that. It wasn't perfect but my father did provide, protect, and was always there. My earthly father had weakness and limitations, but our Heavenly Father does not.
