Abandoned

Jeremy, a fourteen-year-old boy, comes home one day to find that his mom and step-father have packed up and left. Hoping they will come back, he does his best at school and navigating life. Jeremy befriends an African-American Police Officer and takes in an abandoned puppy. He has to deal with neighbors, landlords, teachers, classmates, and two nefarious older teens who are not what they seem to be. As he reflects on his life, he realizes his parents had already abandoned him emotionally before they left. He wants to tell his police friend, or perhaps a teacher but is scared of what the future would bring in the foster system.
