In the 21st century it is impossible to imagine any design process carried out without the application of computer modelling techniques. Computer modelling is an effective and in-demand tool for creating and studying complex systems. As experience is gained, algorithms and methods of computer modelling are continuously improved, databases are supplemented, which, in turn, leads to improved validity of the results obtained. This book discusses the process of creating a computer model of the production line for Abacavir, one of the effective and sought-after drugs for the treatment of HIV infection. The simulation was carried out on state-of-the-art software, Aspen Hysys V 10 (2017). The book describes in detail the existing methods for the synthesis of Abacavir.
