Mr. Turner was born into a family of fourteen, helmed by an incredibly resilient African American mother. She was his greatest advocate to do more with the life God gave him and is his inspiration. He learned from his mother to never give up on yourself. Growth can be painful but rising from a street hustler to a psychotherapist presented its own challenges. Wrestling with dysfunction- he prevailed. His poetry releases pain, regrets, and resentments. It forces you to recognize folly and emotional waste can be overcome by the beauty all around us - if we are willing to reconcile with our issues. Mr. Turner was in the military. He used the G.I. Bill to attend University. Left the street life. Attained a Master of Social Work degree. And became a Licensed Certified Social Worker and Psychotherapist. He started on the road to redemption through helping people struggling with dysfunction.
