It's 2019, and sleepy Dierne Bay is given a unique bequest by a American benefactor. Soon a quiet war is raging between two local groups, Asylum, and Heritage, over their opposing plans for the gift they've been given.
Then a fishing boat and her crew disappear without trace, and the lives of Dierne's inhabitants are shown to be intertwined in a way nobody ever imagined they could be.

While the authorities deny the daily arrival of seaborne invaders, the little town is intrigued by a strange stone monolith known as the Lady, which is slowly rising from the sea.

Legend has it the Lady only appears when the town is threatened, but who is she, and what is her l ink to the American's bequest?
