Nathan Marshall Southwick (1872-1963) was a lifelong resident of Leicester, Massachusetts. In between running sawmills and Maple Hill Farm, he raised a large family, found time to read Rudyard Kipling/Charles Dickens and write now and then. He was also expert at the fine art of the Yankee trade, an art now largely forgotten. Having A Yankee Trader published was his greatest wish.
