At eleven years old, Josiah embarks on a new journey that takes him far out of his comfort zone. In the midst of trying times, Josiah meets someone who sees something in him that most others have never seen, and his life is changed forever. As Josiah grows, he faces a great deal of responsibility and discovers more about the difficult reality of being a young black man in the South. Will the bonds he has formed be strong enough to help him survive in the cruel world that surrounds him?
