At twenty-one, that age that bridges the gap between boy and man, a college student's curiosity leads him to a most unusual adventure. On Spring Break, with the help of his girlfriend Cassandra and her shaman housekeeper, Worra, Alan is magically transformed into Allison, a beautiful and ... woman. Allison experiences life as a young woman, culminating with a romantic encounter (and ...) with a man. This lovingly written tale is well-crafted and full of gentle erotica and genuine insight into what it means to be a woman. The protaganist is forever changed by the experience. Thanks to Alan Barrie's book, you will be too.Diana Hignutt, author of Moonsword
A sexy and erotic gender-bending fantasy
Published by Thriftbooks.com User , 22 years ago
This is a sexy and erotic fantasy about a young man's brief but intense transition into a female one magical spring break. As a transsexual woman and former crossdresser myself, I can attest that Barrie captures the thrills and challenges of transforming from a man into a woman with uncanny accuracy and affection. He treats respectfully both women, men, and those of us who defy that binary categorization. Our fictional hero/ine's journey from his/her first glimpse of his/her femme self in the mirror, through the first time she is called "ma'am", to her first actual date with a man, echoes truly the milestones that many real-life crossdressers experience (at least the lucky ones!) In the end will our hero/ine decide s/he loves the femme life so much s/he will choose to remain that way forever (as I myself have)? Or will s/he return to the masculine role, perhaps with a new sensitivity to the feelings and experiences of womanhood? The author wraps up his charming fable in a surprising and satisfying solution. If you are curious about the mysterious world of crossdressers and transvestites, A Woman's Passion is a generous introduction to its joys and challenges. If you are lucky enough to already participate in that world, this book is bound to bring back some happy, funny memories and perhaps remind you, as it did me, to value every moment we get to spend "over the rainbow." Heck, if you think crossdressers and tranvestites are sickies and sinners, you may still enjoy this book (you may especially enjoy it--heh-heh!) And it may show you some of the honesty, innocence, and love that can be found in the transgendered world.
Living with "A Woman's Passion"
Published by Thriftbooks.com User , 22 years ago
This is a truly remarkable piece of fiction, by a very courageous author. Mr. Barrie has brought this reader head-on into the glamorous (yet somewhat dangerous) world of changing one's gender. How many males have fantasized, even a little bit, about wanting to be the opposite sex? What number of you would want to be just like your wives, girlfriends, or female colleagues at work...even if just for a day or a week? This book, written with the most exquisite of love and passion, explores that very subject. It's a bit frightening, yes, but also very compelling, arousing, and a must-read. I truly felt that I was inside the author's main character, the further on which I plunged into the book. Soon enough, my body and mind had changed to match the metamorphosis of the author. The passion and joy of that new life was now mine as well, as I raced through the pages. At the end, I was sad that the experience was over, yet joyful in that it could happen again and again. And, it has.Yes, this is escapist fiction. It doesn't profess to be anything else but that. However, "A Woman's Passion" is a wonderful read. I recommend it to all gender-gifted people, to those enlightened folks who enjoy a good fantasy story (and this one is probably the ULTIMATE fantasy!), and even to those who are curious at heart and open-minded enough to enjoy something different.
Fascinating adventure of a man who spends a week as a woman.
Published by Thriftbooks.com User , 23 years ago
Here is an important (and fun) new novel that explores transgenderism, men, women, intergender communications, romance, and sex. It is the enchanting adventures of a man who spends a surprising, fascinating, edifying, and even romantic(!?) week ... as a woman. He expected the experience to be fascinating ... and it was for him and is for us. He expected his rushed lessons in the habits, dress, and behavior of a woman would lead to some fumbling, comic situations ... and they certainly did. He expected to be scared at times ... but he didn't expect the times of pure terror. He expected he would learn things about gender roles and about himself ... but he learned, and we learn with him, much more about men and women and the ways they communicate and the ways they think and feel then he or we have ever fully understood before. He was determined, even before he started, to try to have at least a bit of a woman's sexual experience ... but he didn't expect to find himself in a romance, experiencing a woman's soul-shaking passion, a romance that, as the week comes to its climax, he's not sure he can leave behind. He expected the week to be an adventure ... but he didn't know it would change him forever. This book will be loved by transvestites, crossdressers, and the like, but any adventurous reader who likes a little eroticism mixed into a fast moving tale will enjoy it also. Women readers will get a kick out of the "touched for the very first time" element to the scenes of a man experiencing passion as a woman.
