A Woman's life (The First Bungee Jumper)

This is a story of a Ni-Vanuatu woman. much of what she faces is typical in her culture. Since the men are in charge of everything, women must prove themselves. This particular story is fictional ,however, an incident similar to this did happen and the resulting Pentecost jump is an off shoot of the real incident. In Pentecost, the jumps are still done with vines and only the men and young boys are allowed to participate in the annual Pentecost jumps held on the Island of Pentecost in Vanuatu, south Pacific.
