This is the story of an 88-year-old woman's call to courage after eight long years of fighting the system. I believe courage is the inner commitment to pursue a worthwhile goal without giving up hope. While the first step to courage is to commit actively to the pursuit of realism, the second step is to commit to the enduring pressure that may come while in the midst of pursuit, keeping in mind the damage that has or may be done. When hope has faded, life slowly diminishes and certainly has its effects. Regardless of how discouraging it can be, it is never too late to rekindle what has faded and ignite new life. The first step toward building our courage is not to maintain unrealistic viewpoints about life experiences. Every time I tried to address the incident that occurred, I encountered increased pressure and resistance. I want my voice to be heard.
