A Whitewashed Church

I was about to incorporate the church when something in my spirit groaned. As I looked over the paperwork, I realized that something was very wrong. I couldn't get past the idea of a church promising to be obedient to the government instead of the Lord Jesus Christ. I couldn't get past the thought of defining ourselves as a non-profit business and not the family of God. Even more troubling, I couldn't understand why so many pastors, who were shepherding the Body of Christ, could. I hadn't felt this betrayed since I learned the truth about biblical tithes.

Have you ever wondered why we do some of the things we do in "church?" such as:

-pay "tithes" and pass money around in a basket?

-hold minister officiated funeral services?

-hold fund raisers (such as bake sales) to raise money?

-take out mortgages on buildings dedicated for worship?

-consider our pastors "Presidents" and their wives "First Ladies"?

Is this what the Bible teaches?

A Whitewashed Church will expose things that the "Institutional" Church has conveniently covered. She has hidden her lies and hypocrisy with the paint of man's tradition. This book will track my journey from confusion to enlightenment and chronicle the steps I took to get there. It will present case by case evidence (all backed by scripture) of how the modern Church has forsaken the blueprint of Christ for a whitewashed imitation.

It will challenge the reader to ask themselves, "Am I part of the church that God desires or the one that man does?"
