A Whiskey Adventure in Tribal Laos

For my Year 12 major project at Noosa Pengari Steiner School I decided to travel to remote tribal villages in Laos to learn about their traditional culture. I decided on this project because I wanted to do something worthwhile that would challenge and interest me (and hopefully others), but also be able to assist people in ways which they find helpful. I travelled to Laos for 1 month in March 2016 (taking my mother, Cara, as my photographer) and lived with tribespeople in some of the many remote Khmu and Hmong villages near Luang Prabang that have had barely any contact with westerners. It was a very challenging, inspiring and successful trip and an extraordinary experience. I have gained valuable insights into tribal life in Laos, some of which I share with you in this book.
