A long time ago, I went up the mountain to visit my grandparents. Only a few households remained up there. The path, now with fewer travelers, had become untamed and unrestrained. The grass on either side, no longer carefully cleared, boldly spread to the middle of the path. Tree branches, left uncut, stretched out in all directions. Walking on the cobblestones, the path looked like a mottled ribbon draped over grass and branches, guiding me upward. 很久以前，一次回山上看望爷爷奶奶。山上的人家只剩下寥寥几户了，少了人烟的路，变得自在而狂放，路两边的草不再被人用心清理，开始张扬到路中央，树木枝干无人砍斫，四下横出。走在卵石上，看着路像一条飘落在草叶和枝干上的斑驳带子，牵引着人向上。 Zhang Wenzhi, female, born in 1979, writes under the pen names Ma Feibai and Zhang Yinmo. She works at the Editorial Department of Taizhou Literature, affiliated with the Taizhou City Federation of Literary and Art Circles. Her works have been published in publications such as Beautiful Prose, Luming, China Reading Weekly, and Prose Selection. She has published a collection of critiques titled The Most Beautiful Encounter.
