Abstract: The title of this prose and imagery composition conveys a transformational experience of the higher self, as described throughout a 24-hour day's outing to a lofty aerie overlooking a landscape of changing color, lighting, and shadows, then the darkness backlit by the twinkling cosmos. Given all of Nature's manifestations, the purpose for the sojourn is reflection and reverence for the pageantry of the life process. Thus, a transformational and subjective experience where the viewer melds with objective reality, both the seen and unseen, as well as the temporal and eternal. After finishing this treatise in 1983, but not published, it was later recorded and recited by the late world-famous Shakespearean director and lecturer, Professor Ronald Watkins of Harrow-on-the-Hill, London. The seven lines of the verse personify a conscious report, and the ensuing three-lines are a subconscious report: Slate gray daybreak - tentative rainfall. A timid peeking sun comes then goes again, unsure just what to do with the new day. It hides as I pass a spooky gorge, gushing; a foaming whitewater broken with falls, tumbling over sere stubble and spent stone. The trail is congested as it is steep and rocky. Even with the rain, I walk as though in a sun-filled dream. I wonder and wander, tingling with overflowing spontaneous excitement. I accept the day no matter how it comes As a retired educator and instructor for the likes of the Grand Canyon Field Institute, most of what I did for a living for some forty years entailed teaching various geosciences, natural and human history, environmental sciences, zoology, mathematics, and assorted published writings. Given my academic degrees, in both Western and Eastern Philosophy, these pensive disciplines have influenced my writings, especially Eastern Philosophy.
