Book Overview

The next installment in the Hades and Persephone story from bestselling author Scarlett St. Clair. Discover the world of New Athens and the Greek gods in a series that readers are calling "hopelessly addictive."

"I am not sure who you think I am," she said. "But let me be clear--I am Persephone, future Queen of the Underworld, Lady of Your Fate--may you come to dread my presence."

Persephone and Hades are engaged. In retaliation, Demeter summons a snowstorm that cripples New Greece, and refuses to lift the blizzard unless her daughter calls off her engagement. When the Olympians intervene, Persephone finds her future in the hands of ancient gods, and they are divided. Do they allow Persephone to marry Hades and go to war with Demeter, or prohibit their union and take up arms against the God of the Dead?

Nothing is certain but the promise of war.

Yasssss!

I loved this one! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ But can I say just start by saying I hate the demigods? I won't go into detail but if you have read the book, you know!? 🤯 As soon as everything is ok, even though it's not actually ok, but a little bit better... here comes a demigod to ruin it. Then we have Demeter 🙄 I felt like Persephone couldn't catch a break but then again in the previous neither could Hades. Well, this one had them both face a lot together. Can we say a battle of the gods? 😱  The only thing I didn't like was the ending. I need more! Then again it's making me excited to start the next book. This will be A Game of Gods (Hades Saga, #3) and I love hearing Hades pov! 🖤 Especially after everything that occurred within this book. Even though I appreciated the additional short chapters of things that weren't added in or couldn't mesh. Hopefully Hades' book will have some too ❤️

Engagement and upheaval

Persephone and Hades' engagement provokes Demeter to summon a crippling snowstorm over New Greece, demanding her daughter call off the union. The Olympians intervene, torn between allowing the marriage and facing Demeter's wrath or prohibiting it and angering Hades. The situation teeters on the brink of war, with no clear resolution in sight. Rating: 4/5 I loved most of this book. The story is reaching a climax, and I'm excited to read the last two books in the series. Persephone's evolution has been interesting and sometimes frustrating, but overall satisfying, while Hades has been consistently swoon-worthy. This book delves deeper into the gods and the situation with the Olympians, focusing more on mythology and less on the mortal world, which I enjoyed. However, some side stories felt underdeveloped. I'm eager to see where the series goes, especially from Hades’s perspective.
