This is a really great Hades and Persephone telling.

I love the mythology of Persephone and Hades and this book does a great job of telling it in a more modern era.

The Start of a Beautiful Series Relationship!

This was a great read! I wasn't so sure when I read one of the books descriptions before buying but I gave it a shot. Especially since I was able to use one of my free book rewards. I'm so glad I did, I even got the next, A Game of Fate, with my other free birthday book reward. This isn't the second book in the original series but it's meant to be read to align with Persephone's pov. A Game of Fate is Hades pov.

Modern version

My rating is more of a 4.5 than a 4. I modern take on Hades & Persephone. Really enjoyed it looking forward to book #2

Absolutely loved it!!

I loved the slow burn this book developed and the characterizations of Hades and Persephone were wonderfully well done, their distinct personal identities mesh in such amazing ways when they are interacting with the world that author has built for them.

It reads like a poor fanfiction

I read about 3/4 of the way through this book, and the only reason I'm continuing to read it is to finish it. If I didn't have my pride, I would have put the book down long ago. Not only are the characters 2 dimensional and bland, but there are a number of editor errors throughout the book which makes it difficult to read and enjoy. A lot of the language in the book is very "tell the readers what's happening" instead of showing the readers what's happening. Plus, the spice happens so quickly and there's hardly any build-up to it. I'm not invested in these characters at all, and it sucks because I'm a huge Greek mythology nerd and don't feel like this does the myth justice. I'm disappointed in how stale this story feels to me.

Enchanting Story.

This book had me fixated from the very first lines of Chapter I. Once I had begun to read I was reluctant to put it down until the last page. I will definitely be purchasing the rest of the books in this series.

Good slow burn romance

I loved the slow burn this book developed and the characterizations of Hades and Persephone were wonderfully well done, their distinct personal identities mesh in such amazing ways when they are interacting with the world that author has built for them.

A Touch Of Darkness and Series

I read this series in spring of this year I loved it so much all of the sequels-I didn’t get through the Hades POV- but I loved the entirety of this series and 100% recommend!

Favorite book so far!

Such a captivating and beautiful rendition of the classic tale of Hades and Persephone. Spicy slow burn that has you begging for more.

One of the best retelling of Hades & Persephone

I found this book to be one (of only a few I love) of the best retelling of the Greek mythology God and Goddess Hades and Persephone. I enjoy that the setting of the story takes on a modern day 21st century Athens with the Gods living besides the humans. They are regarded as like modern day celebrities but still recognized as powerful gods. Scarlett St. Clair does amazing in fleshing out the other characters in the book that are also Gods, Goddesses, Demigods, mythical creatures, etc from Greek Mythology and human original characters. The closes thing I can compare this is to Lore Olympus by Rachel Smythe in the way story universe is structured but still different. Also, when I say this book is spicy it's very SPICY! There's several hot and heavy scenes throughout the book of Persephone and Hades that had me looking over my shoulder to see if anyone was around. Really recommend it to my steamy romance readers who also enjoy retelling of Greek Mythology. It was so addicting from start to finished that I read the entire series in 3 days (even the Hades POV book).
