Scott Shepard, a former Air Force test pilot and retired commercial airline captain accepts a part-time managerial position at the Loretto Chapel in his home town of Santa Fe, New Mexico. The Chapel is known for what is called it's legendary "Miraculous Staircase." The spiral staircase built in 1868 from wood and held together with wooden pegs has no center support.
