Columbia University Student Rachel Peterson has been living in New York for the last six years. She has completed her Masters in Classics, Phi Beta Kappa, no less, and planning on going forward to her PhD. But she wants a break from school, so she has her Aunt Leigh in England arrange for her to take a job at a pub called the Dart & Dagger. Needless to say her boyfriend of the last three years, Gary, who is in medical school isn't thrilled. When Rachel first sees Devonshire, she hates it, so dark and dreary. However her boss, William Buckland is handsome as all get out. But he's moody and she doesn't know why. However, she does know that see feels a powerful attraction for him. How will she explain that to Gary when he comes to visit?I just loved this old book, as I do so love a story with a wedding at the end, however, who does Rachel marry and why. You'll have to find this pleasing romance to find out. It's a fun read and it was hard for me to believe that this excellent story had been penned twenty years ago. Just super.
