After burying his wife and mother within a few weeks of each other, 36-year-old Cole Grendahl leaves his surfer lifestyle and charter fishing business in Pawleys Island, South Carolina, and moves to Montana to work on the Rambling G, his uncle's 127,000-acre cattle ranch. Cole uses his devout faith in God to rise from defeat and reclaim love in his life. While learning about Western culture, Cole becomes an advocate for hunters concerning Montana's vague laws governing public land usage within private ranches. His persistence to change the laws brings danger and personal conflict, but ultimately helps pass legislation that changes the laws. The story conveys a message of how steadfast we must be as individuals to overcome adversity and to never give up on matters of the heart that we strongly believe in. A Time for All Seasons is set in modern-day Montana. The southern-style, first-person narration envelops all of Montana, making it a place like no other in America.
