A Tiger Named Spot was born different than the other tigers. This cub had spots instead of stripes As he grew, he questioned his parents about his appearance. He asked why he was different. He asked why other tigers have stripes. And most of all, he wondered if he was the only one who was different. His parents answer most of his questions. But the last one gets answered at the end when Spot is invited to a s'mores party. This beautifully illustrated rhyming tale is engaging for small children because it's both colorful and comical. But on a deeper level, it's about appreciating differences in ourselves and others. There is more than one way to reach a goal. Sometimes what at first seems to be a weakness is a strength. It's just in camouflage.
