A Texas Love Story

A Tall Texan is Jerry Eckart's first book at the age of 77. He grew up in Northern California until he was 14, when he moved to Southern California. He attended high school there, playing football, basketball, and baseball. He went on to the University of Oregon, graduating with a degree in Accounting.Jerry started his work experience with Shell Oil in Los Angeles as an accountant and operational auditor. After five years he was transferred to Denver Colorado where he met his wife, Sheila. They were married in Denver and moved to Southern California where Jerry changed careers. He joined the computer field for 25 years in sales. The change took his family from Southern California to Ohio and finally to Texas in 1982.In the mid-1990's, he made a career change again to become a real estate rental property owner. He continued in this until the mid-2000s when he sold off most of his properties. Since that time he has been busy with various activities including his church and son's business.Jerry has three grown children and six grandchildren with the oldest ready to go to college this year.Jerry has been known for his vivid imagination. He likes to tell stories of his past and embellish them a little bit. Jerry admits that the longest paper he ever wrote in high school or college was 500 words. Writing a book has been a new and challenging experience. He hopes you enjoy the story.Published by Burkhart Books, Bedford, TXwww.BurkhartBooks.com
